Cycle route from the Badweg: the east of Schiermonnikoog

Take the Badweg towards the sea (not towards the village).

First cycle path on the right: the Bospad, towards Kobbeduinen. At beach access Westerhofpad keep right.

Follow the Bospad to signpost (paddenstoel) 22524, then turn left: the Scheepstrapad.

At signpost 22444 turn left towards the bathing beach, past bunker museum Schlei and beach pavilion De Marlijn.

At signpost 22523 towards Kobbeduinen: the Johan de Jongpad. At the end turn left onto the Kwelderpad.

Keep left and park your bike at the end. Walk over the dune and the wooden boardwalk to the Kobbeduinen beacon. Return via the other side, keep right and follow the white posts.

Cycle back, keeping left towards the Wadden Sea. At signpost 23991 turn right: the Kwelderpad towards the village.

At signpost 23993/001 turn left and after 300 m right onto the Kooiweg, past the duck decoy.

After the farms turn right onto the Reddingsweg (unpaved). At signpost 22628 you have gone too far.

Follow the Reddingsweg to Vredenhof. Head back the way you came and take the first path on the right straight away (barely cyclable).

Park your bike at the bunker and walk up: the Wasserman viewpoint.

Cross the asphalt road, straight on towards Berkenplas. At signpost 23990 turn left to the Berkenplas, a good resting spot with a terrace.

Back to signpost 23990, straight on to 23989 and turn right into the Jacobspad (another half hour). Straight on is the shortest way back via the Badweg.

At signpost 22285 turn right onto the Scheepstrapad, at 22286 right onto the Berkenpad (straight on at the gate).

Brake in time on the descent: at the end (signpost 22287) the path turns sharply left.

At signpost 22524 go up into the woods (so not the Bospad). At 22632 turn right.

After signpost 22600 turn left towards the lighthouse. After a beach access point, turn right at the next fork.

At the end turn left onto the Badweg and you are back.
